HUMINT – Human Intelligence

HUMINT is an abbreviation for HUMan INTelligence, and is the oldest form of intelligence gathering. HUMINT in unique in giving an agent the ability to penetrate the enemy/adversary’s decision-making core, whether a high level military or government organization, or a terrorist cell.
Intelligence professionals the world over recognize the importance of HUMINT, mainly in fight against terrorism. With hindsight provided by the events of 9/11, the Madrid train bombings, the public transportation bombings in London and more, it is apparent that human elements inside terrorist cells could prevent serious catastrophes.
A HUMINT agent needs special personal traits, such as ingenuity, cunning, extreme creativity, excellent ability to connect with people, sociability, sophistication and manipulative skills. These have to be discovered and developed over the years through work in courses and training sessions.
The course content can be tailored to clients’ specific requirements. It is conducted by graduates of the Israeli Intelligence system by instructors who have worked with HUMINT for many years. It can be conducted at a basic level for new employees and can also be presented to those who have been working in the field for several years, as a refresher or to present new approaches. The recommended duration for the course is 2-3 weeks, depending on the specific components the client wishes to include and emphasize.

  • Class simulations on various situations an agent may find himself in
  • Different methods of obtaining information from the HUMINT source

  • Teamwork in recruiting sources, including practice
  • Reporting – its importance, various types of reporting, information processing and ways to use the information
  • Security issues in operating live sources
  • Open to Law Enforcement and Military Personnel Only.
  • Special Governmental Security  and Intelligence Forces.

Students will watch various films, conduct analyses in class discussions, complete guided exercises and drills, which will be filmed and analyzed for feedback.

This course can be personalized to the client’s needs and requirements. The duration of the course is determined according to the topics the client wishes to underscore.

The suggested duration is between two and three weeks. The basic level course is suggested for new employees and can also be advocated for employees who have been working in the field for several years as a refresher course or to present new approaches.

Law Enforcement and Military Personnel Only. Students must provide credentials verifying affiliation with above-listed organization(s). Minimum age for enrollment is 18.

Students should be in excellent physical condition and have no debilitating medical conditions or any medications that could affect physical ability and judgment.

The course will require end user certification from the client side.
